On October 25, 2025, at the Nashville Half Marathon, 6-year-old Tom Black made history — finishing the 13.1-mile race in 1:50:52, the fastest half marathon ever recorded for a 6-year-old.
Running a half marathon at any age is impressive, but Tom’s record-breaking run inspired everyone at this year’s event. The Nashville Half Marathon — part of the Run Nash race series — welcomes runners of all levels to experience downtown Nashville’s energy, community spirit, and scenic course.
Tom’s accomplishment is a reminder that passion and perseverance know no age limit. His story highlights the supportive and inclusive environment that makes the Nashville Half Marathon such a special event for families, first-timers, and seasoned runners alike.
Congratulations to Tom! We can’t wait to see what milestones come next.
