CAN I SWITCH DISTANCES (IE - FROM THE MARATHON TO HALF MARATHON)?
Yes, you may switch to any distance race from any distance race. Fees may apply depending on what race you are switching from and to. If you do not officially change your registered distance, you will receive the medal and event shirt for the race distance you are registered for with no exceptions. You will find the option to switch race distances by going to your RunSignUp account: Profile -> My Registered Races -> Manage Registration.
WILL THERE BE A VIRTUAL OPTION THIS YEAR?
Yes, we will be offering a virtual event for all our races. You will be mailed your medal and t-shirt as it becomes available and no later than 1 month post event.
CAN I GIVE/SELL MY NUMBER TO ANOTHER RUNNER?
Entries are non-transferable. This is for the safety of the runner as well as necessary to satisfy insurance requirements of the event. If a runner experiences an emergency during the race and is running as someone else, we would not have emergency information available for them. This could result in further injury.
OFFICIAL TIME – GUN TIME OR CHIP TIME?
Per USA Track & Field rules, your official time is Chip Time. This is your time from when you cross the start timing mats until you cross the finish timing mats. Chip time, or net time, is provided as a service to you and is accepted by many races, including the Boston Marathon, as a qualifying time. Only the overall winners of each race distance will be scored on Gun Time. Gun Time uses the actual start time of the race time (when the gun goes off) and when the runner crosses the finish timing mat.
WHAT IS THE TIME LIMIT FOR THE RACE?
City permits limit the race time to a certain time limit. No race services including medical, aid stations or traffic control are available beyond the time limits listed below.
- 5k/1 mile – 1 hour
- Half Marathon – 4 hours
- Marathon – 6 hours
The racecourse is opened to traffic on a rolling schedule as participants make their way to the finish. In order to ensure safety, a Sweep Vehicle and Bus follow the race route to pick-up participants who are unable to maintain this pace on a consistent basis. Participants are required to board the Sweep Bus when so instructed by Race Officials. Course Marshals are instructed to record bib numbers of all participants who refuse to board the bus when instructed to do so.
CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICKUP MY PACKET?
If you are unable to attend the Race Expo, you may send a proxy to pick up your race packet on your behalf.
Please send your proxy with a copy of driver’s license (digital picture is OK) and your QR code to expedite the pick-up process. QR codes are sent the day before the Expo. Proxies may only pick-up packets for up to 3 people.
WILL THERE BE CORRALS?
We will use a pre-assigned corral system for the Nashville 1/2 Marathon (NHM) and allow self-seeding for our additional events. For the NHM event, we will assign runners to corrals based on their anticipated finish times. Assignments will be printed on the front of each runner bib. Corrals will be marked in the start chute with signage. Please report to your assigned corral area. The faster runners will be in the front with ascending pace following.
